Last month I was reading an article lamenting how AI is removing the serendipity of Google's online search in favor of producing a specific result. The criticism used the example of searching for recipes. This inspired me to test the process for myself.
The article placed the issue of garbage Google search results front and center. I've noticed the same trashy search results and switched to Bing as my browser's default search engine a few months ago. In my particular case, I favor the organization of Bing results that cover the topic and include links I could peruse as desired.
I'd never used Bing to search for recipes so I gave it a whirl. I searched for a simple recipe: white sandwich bread. I was presented with links from top-rated bakers and notable wheat flour millers. I still had the ability to choose links to review and availed myself of several. The simplest recipe I found was one published by King Arthur Baking.
